Jeanne Lorraine Repenning Forsberg, oldest child of Charles Repenning, was born in 1951 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She grew up in Holbrook, Arizona and Mountain View, California along with her siblings and an astonishing array of wild animals, bones, and paleontologists. She holds a BA in Behavioral Science from National Lewis University and lives in Chicago with her husband of 36 years, their second son, a parrot and a cockatiel. She is often asked to speak on various issues surrounding people with cognitive disabilities, their rights and the challenges of being a full-time caregiver of a person with profound disabilities. She also leads a SPRED fellowship group for children with cognitive disabilities between the ages of 6 and 10. She and her husband enjoy visits with their first son, his wife and their three children as often as they can. Her husband teaches Special Education in the Chicago Public Schools and frequently assures people that the stories she tells about her father are true.
